I so can’t wait for the next episode of Shiki. I’m not a huge fan of scary stories but when I watch one, I can get hooked. Like with Shiki – good thing it’s in a level in which I can watch it all by myself.
Shiki’s plot is so cliche – people in a small village die one by one due to – well, vampires! At first, the village doctor thought it’s an epidemic but now he’s thinking that the deaths are caused by okiagari/risen/vampires. Gosh, it took him 6 episodes to realized it. The vampires are old-school cliche too (unlike those Twilight gay vampires) – they die in sunlight or with a stake in the heart.

What I like about this anime – 1) It scares me. 2) The art style is so unique – almost like the guys are all bishies 2) I like the slow pacing and thus, the story.
What I hate about this anime – 1) That weird, Masao guy. Why can’t he just die?

After having watched Vampire Knight I actually no longer consider myself watching any other vampire series. The same goes for Twilight, except I’d consider Buffy since she came in first.
P.S. Whoa! “Strict security” indeed!
VK is more like a vampire vs vampire thing – like a story within a vampire world. I did watch some eps of the 1st season. I admit I got hooked – I even read up until chapter 40ish of the manga. What I liked about it was that it’s shoujo.
Dunno why I stopped watching/reading it. It just happened.
While Shiki is more like an horror story. It’s not a vampire series perse, I think. You should give it a try if horror anime is one of the things you like.
You didn’t actually finish VK? Sounds weird. Hmm… Maybe I do ought to check this one out.
Yeah, sadly.
I tend to put some series on hiatus because I follow new anime series every season. You know, like there are just series that I stop watching mainly because ‘there are new ones in the new season’. And sometimes downloading once a week is quite ma-hassle. Maybe if I downloaded VK as a batch DL, I would have finished it.
Tho – I still want to finish it someday.
